The Radio City Rockettes believe that it is important to educate young aspiring dancers about the skills and talents necessary to pursue a career in dance, as well as encourage them to pursue their dreams. Therefore, they are proud to present innovative dance education programs. The Rockette Experience and The Rockette Summer Intensive offer dancers the opportunity to train with current day Rockettes and study their unique precision dance technique.  Since its inception, 26 students of the Rockette Dance Education program have become Rockettes.

The Rockette Experience

For anyone who’s ever dreamed of dancing with the Radio City Rockettes, The Rockette Experience may bring that dream a bit closer to reality. MSG Entertainment is proud to offer aspiring dancers the opportunity to study up close and personal the world famous Rockette precision dance technique.

Take a 3-hour workshop taught by a Radio City Rockette and learn choreography from the Rockette repertoire, including the world-famous Rockette kick line. Additionally, go through a “mock audition” plus have a Q&A session and photo op with the Rockette teacher, and take the Stage Door Tour. The entire program allows hopeful dancers to get a glimpse into the life of a Rockette and gain a sense of the excitement, challenges and joys that come along with being part of the world’s most famous precision dance company.

Requirements: Open to dancers ages 10 (and up) with training in jazz, tap, and ballet.

The Rockette Summer Intensive

Now in its seventh season, the Rockette Summer Intensive offers a comprehensive summer training program that allows dancers to connect with the professional dance world and train with Radio City Rockettes as well as a Rockette Director/Choreographer. Students take six hours of
class daily with emphasis on Rockette jazz, tap, formations and kick line, plus get a performance opportunity. The goal of this program is to give students the opportunity to discover and develop their optimum potential in a nurturing environment.

The 2008 Rockette Summer Intensive will be held at Radio City Music Hall on June 22-27; July 6-11; July 13-18; July 20-25; and at Point Park University in Pittsburgh June 15-21.

The Rockette Summer Intensive National Audition Tour

To be considered for the Rockette Summer Intensive dancers must be at least 14 years of age with a minimum of 5 years training in tap, jazz, and ballet and must attend a Rockette Summer Intensive audition or  submit a video audition. Auditions will be held December 2007 through February 2008 in New York, Boston, Washington D.C., Chicago, Nashville, Pittsburgh, Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa, and Costa Mesa.
