Korea's most remarkable pop musician of the 20th century, Cho Yong Pil, has produced many memorable hits of Korean music, including "Return to Busan Port," "Dear Friend," and "The Lady Outside the Window." Having a total of 18 albums, the artist has received numerous awards such as the KBS and MBC Best Artist Award (1980-1986), AMPEX Golden Reel Award (1982) and the CBS-SONY Golden Disc Award (1984).

Throughout his music career, Pil has had a great influence on Korean pop music by exploring music to the best of his abilities and his productions in various genres including rock, trot, ballad, fusion and folk.
